Stuff I actually use
People ask me at markets what I print with, what the lights are, how I keep a tent survivable in an Oklahoma July. This is the honest list. Everything here is something that lives in my shop or rides in the van to a show. If it is on this page it earned its way on by working.
A note on the links. Some of these are affiliate or referral links, which means I may earn a small commission or store credit if you buy through one, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It does not change what I recommend. Nothing goes on this list that I have not paid for and used myself.
I do not list prices. They move constantly and half of these are only worth buying on sale. Tap through and the shop will tell you what it costs today.
Filament
This is the part people actually ask about. The colour is the product as much as the model is, and a silk or a colour-change filament does most of the work before I have touched anything.
- ELEGOO filament, straight from them rather than through a marketplace. My codes there are IME10 for $10 off $100 and IME20 for $20 off $500, so it is worth going direct if you are restocking rather than grabbing one spool.
- JAYO Silk Dual Colour PLA, Red and Gold is the one I reach for most. It is in a lot of what you have seen on the table.
- JAYO Silk PLA, White and ELEGOO Sparkle Black are my pairing for eyes and detail work. The sparkle black catches light in a way flat black never does.
- ZIRO Twinkling PLA in Lavender and the Galaxy change colour as they print. Good for pieces where I want the surprise to happen on its own.
- Silk Rainbow PLA, 16 spool bundle and the triple-colour gradient bundle are how I buy silk in bulk. Watch these two, they swing hard on sale.
- SUNLU Rainbow PLA for straightforward rainbow work.
Printers and upgrades
The machines, and the small things that made a real difference to them. Not gadgets.
- Snapmaker U1. There are five of these in my shop and they do most of the multi-colour work you see on the table. My link should knock a little off the machine for you as well, while it lasts.
- BIQU Panda Lux LED bar for Bambu P1P, P1S, X1C and X1E. It still runs off the printer, and I like it better than the light it came with.
- SUNLU AMS Heater if you have an AMS Gen 1 and want it drying filament while it feeds. Two jobs from one box.
- Cold texture PEI build plate for the Anycubic Kobra S1, Kobra X and Kobra 4.
Booth and market gear
An Oklahoma market is either too hot, too bright or too windy, sometimes all three before lunch. This is what makes a ten hour day survivable.
- CROWN SHADES 10x10 commercial canopy, the white one. The commercial frame is the one worth having.
- Battery ceiling fan with light that hangs from the canopy frame. Four speeds, and the colour temperature adjusts from warm to daylight, which matters when you are lighting a table of colour after sundown.
- EcoFlow Wave 3 portable air conditioner. I cannot run a window unit, so this is how the shop stays workable in summer.
- Aneken money counter. Counts cash faster than I can, and it reads the value, not just the bill count. Worth it after a busy Saturday.
Shop supplies
- BSI Insta-Set superglue accelerator in the small bottle, and the 8 oz refill once you know you like it.
- Disposable transfer pipettes. I would rather apply accelerator with a dropper than spray it. More control, less mess, and a pack lasts forever.
- D'Addario Nyltech soprano ukulele strings for the uke work.
More coming
This is the start of the list, not the end of it. I share links to plenty that is not on here yet: tools, materials, the small stuff that makes a booth work. I will keep adding as I go.
If something here is out of stock, or you want to know whether it is worth it before you buy, message me on Instagram or Facebook. I would rather talk you out of something than have you waste the money.
